1. US President Barack Obama visited Hirosima last May, 71 years after since the atomic bombing for the first time as a present president. This resulted in an outlook by experts that the visit may give a giant impact on the drift of the world diplomacy. Describe for each of the positive and negative impact that the state visit can have on diplomatic current.

Some people say that this visit to Hiroshima was an act of consolidation. They say that a lot of innocent souls were lost in the Hiroshima bombing, and Obama himself announced that he was going there to show that the US regrets those innocent lives lost in the war tragedy. The visit is also seen as a chance to emphasize the danger and devastation of nuclear weapons. It will promote a chance for world leader to meet and discuss the issue of nuclear weapons, such as weapons in North Korea. Since many Koreans were also killed in the Hiroshima bombing, Obama also mentioned the Korean innocents in his reasons of going to Hiroshima. Many are certain that this visit heightened Obama’s ethical image and also showed the US know to repent for past crimes.

However, not everyone praised US government’s decision to visit Hiroshima. Although  it is true that many innocent Japanese people died in the bombing, Japan was a war criminal country during the World War . The country committed many war crimes, especially in Korea. Visiting Hiroshima to console them for their losses will be an act that would seem to make Japan, victims of WW instead of showing that it was one of the countries that started the war itself. It would further discourage Japan from apologizing for its crimes in Korea, since they can now claim that they were also victimized.

3. At the ‘2016 International Food Industry Exhibition’ robots or machines working in a food factory were exhibited. While the automation of food spreads out in the general restaurant, Robot “Pepper” of SoftBank  is taking orders from some Asian Pizza Hut Branch and taking charge of payment. With the expansion of the use of artificial intelligence robot as a labor substitute, there are a variety of perspectives on it. Describe both the positive and negative impacts that the labor force of robots can trigger.

The ‘Robot Labor Force” is taking over human jobs more quickly than ever imagined, creating worry for human employees and making a path to a new kind of revolution, the first after the digital revolution of the 21st century.

This phenomenon can bring benefits. First, some say the employers would no longer need to pay salary if all the employees are machines. They would only need to purchase the robots and use them for a very long time. Although it may be expensive, many claim that the cost would be less than having hundreds of employees, if seen in the long run. Also, some claim that if robots take over, the low-labor force, humans can focus on the intellectual labor, such as researching, designing, inventing, etc. They say that humans will have a higher quality of life, with more time for leisure activities and hobbies.

Of course, that sounds too good to be completely true. Automated labor market is becoming a growing nightmare for people working in factories and many other professionals. Although many factory workers and other low-labor employees have been replaced by machines from a long time ago, the recent battle of AlphaGo and Lee sedol proved that computers and automations are capable of performing highly intellectual jobs, also. This would definitely cause unemployment rate to shoot up, especially since many employers prefer automations that they can easily control and not pay. Also, it would make humans a weak species that rely on automations to do everything.

There are many other plus and minus factors in the automated labor revolution. Although the technology provides a highly efficient and bright future, danger always lurks in developing something to replace humans. Who know if we humans will end up serving our artificial counterparts in the future?
